Business Development Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Development Manager with furniture workspace experience to join the RJ Office team.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall sales responsibilities within RJ Office and ensuring that appropriate targets are met and exceeded.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Pro-actively and professionally conducting incoming and outgoing sales calls in accordance with the sales and marketing plan
  • Involvement in formulating the annual sales and marketing plan and budget
  • Co-ordinating responses to tenders and Requests for Tenders (RFT) documents
  • Adherence to and involvement in setting sales and marketing policies and procedures
  • Amending quotes as appropriate
  • Attending weekly Sales Meetings and performing the role of “Rotating Chair” as required
  • Attending Project Information (PI) meetings if required
  • Negotiating lead times and deliveries with the Factory Manager
  • Mentoring of Sales Assistant
  • Measuring sites for quotes and fitout
  • Maintaining a strong product knowledge
  • Discussing and planning for current and future client furniture requirements
  • Planning and conducting furniture and electrical demonstrations in the RJ Office showroom (approximately one per month)
  • Product presentations for clients either onsite or in the Darling Harbour Showroom
  • Providing input into marketing and website updates
  • Keeping up to date with competitor product and service offerings
  • Managing complaints and praise from customers
  • Escalation of complaints when necessary
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data entered into the RJO database
  • Keeping client files up-to-date
  • Sourcing pricing from suppliers as required
  • Adherence to and input into formation of the sales and marketing policies and procedures
  • Ensuring the fit-out procedures are in accordance with the EMS policies

 

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Appropriate and current sales training
  • Retail experience, preferably within a showroom environment
  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills
  • The ability to read and understand floor plans
  • The ability to multi-task and to co-ordinate and manage cross functional relationships
  • A minimum of 3 years furniture workspace experience
  • Service orientation with a track record in sales and customer service
  • High attention to detail
  • Solid listening, coaching and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence positive outcomes
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines in a sometimes highly pressured environment
  • Good personal appearance in accordance with RJ Dress Code
