Waste Management

Reduce waste at source in all operations, encourage creative 'reduce/reuse/recycle' of waste materials generated and if necessary dispose of any unavoidable wastes safely.

Compliance and regulation

Adhere to environmental laws and regulations and where feasible exceed levels of compliance.

Design

Design to ensure that every product is evaluated on its environmental impact over its full life; generally known as a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). This covers materials, manufacturing, emissions, waste, re-use and refurbishment, ease of disassembly and recyclability.

Packaging

Where feasible, packaging such as boxes is to be returned and reused. Use of reusable packaging like blankets is actively encouraged. Until packaging materials like plastic have been eliminated, every care to return it to source for reuse or recycling is taken.

Communication and reporting

Educate staff and contractors about our Environmental Management System.
Report accurate, up-to-date verified environmental performance data in annual reports and share good environmental practice with the industry and the public.

Risk assessment, pollution prevention, environmental protection

Assess the impacts of all business activities on the environment and develop responses to all areas of concern including emergency situations.

External collaboration

Build relationships with companies that demonstrate strong environmental standards and ensure that suppliers and contractors conduct business in an environmentally responsible manner.

Accountability and monitoring

Support staff, suppliers and contractors in the implementation of our environmental policies. Set environmental objectives and targets, and hold all individuals accountable for performance and measurement results. Use regularly conducted internal audits to measure performance on an ongoing basis.

End of Life

As part of our Product Stewardship we undertake to assist customers in implementing an environmentally responsible way of disposing of our products at the end of their useful life for reuse or recycling.

Transportation

Optimise both incoming and outgoing shipments to minimise the cost of freight and the impact on the environment.

All manufacturing processes, internal and external, are to ensure
